A SACRED INVITATION
TO ADORATION

at 9:30 AM

Come and experience the profound grace of adoration at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. In the stillness of sacred silence, as we gather before the open Tabernacle, let us adore the precious Body of Christ—the Bread of Life, given in love for us.

This half-hour of quiet meditation is a rare and beautiful opportunity to reflect upon our Lord’s infinite bounty and His presence in the Eucharist. Whether you choose to pray, meditate, or simply sit in the tranquility of His presence, you are invited to bring your St. Ambrose prayer book. For those without one, meditation aids will be graciously provided.

This sacred time is offered to our parish members and visitors with the blessing of Fr Fenton, our priest-in-charge. His encouragement to hold adoration opens the way for us to grow closer to Christ together.

Join us half an hour before Matins, and let us celebrate the gift of His flesh—the Bread of Life—shared for the salvation of the world.

Pre-Sanctified Mass and Holy Communion with Dn. Elijah
Father's Day, June 15th.

We are thrilled to share that Dn. Elijah will be returning to Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church on Fathers Day, June 15th.

We look forward to his presence as he officiates the pre-sanctified Mass and Holy Communion.

An Invitation to Support
Our Beloved Church and Clergy

Saint Nicholas created three important reserve funds:

Clergy Travel Expense Fund—This fund covers the monthly travel expenses of our priest-in-charge, Fr. Fenton, and Deacon Elijah.
New Priest Reserve Fund – Each month, 25% of our net operating reserves will be set aside in anticipation of welcoming a new priest. When a permanent priest is assigned to our parish, these funds will help cover moving and travel expenses, housing allowances, insurance, and professional needs.
Maintenance Reserve Fund – We are currently obtaining estimates for:
1. A fence around our parking lot
2. A fence around our church property
3. Sprinkler system repairs

Given recent and concerning activity in our neighborhood, we believe it is necessary to enhance our security by pairing our new video surveillance system with fenced-in parking and church grounds, secured with locked gates.

Additionally, damage to our sprinkler system has been discovered. To ensure the upkeep of our grounds and foliage, prompt repairs are needed.

With your generous support, we can fund these vital improvements and continue fostering the spiritual growth and well-being of our beloved Saint Nicholas Orthodox community. All donations, no matter the amount, are a cherished blessing and deeply appreciated.

Jesus, eternal Priest, keep this thy Priest, now unknown to our parish family, within the shelter of Thy Sacred Heart, where none may touch him. Keep unstained his anointed hands, which daily touch Thy Sacred Body; keep unsullied his lips, purpled with Thy precious Blood; keep pure and unearthly his heart, sealed with sublime marks of Thy glorious priesthood. Let Thy holy love surround him, and keep him ever spotless from the world. Bless his labours with abundant fruit, and may they to whom he has ministered be here below with joy and consolation, and in heaven his beautiful and everlasting crown. Amen.

O Almighty God, look mercifully upon Thy Church, and incline the hearts of many of her sons to offer themselves for the work of the sacred ministry; so that by their labors, Thy Light may shine in the darkness of the world, and the coming of Thy kingdom may be hastened by the perfecting of Thine elect. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Reminder

There is a list left in the Narthex for parishioners to remember those who need our on-going intercessions to God. The list is picked up after the Office by one of the Acolytes so they can be remembered. Customarily their names are mentioned in the Mass. However, remembrances and intercessions now are moved to the announcements in our Communion Service.

OTHER NEWS, REQUESTS AND/OR RESOURCES

Holy Communion - is received by intinction only: Only duly prepared Orthodox Christians may receive the sacrament of Holy Communion. Preparation includes the pre-communion fast (see below) and confession to a priest of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America. All others may receive a blessing by crossing their arms and bowing their head.

Pre-communion Fast - Unless you are under a doctor's care, all of those between 21-60 are expected to fast from drinking and eating from midnight on Saturday until after communion on Sunday. However, you can have water up until an hour before communion. If we are having a scheduled evening Mass, please eat and drink as close to noon as possible. You can have water up until about an hour before communion. There are exceptions to these rules. If you have any questions, please contact us at pastor@spokaneorthodox.org.

Confession - TBD

Scripture Readings for the Week - Please visit the English Office website for the daily offices. This site is run by the Brown family and is an excellent resource for when you want to pray the parochial daily offices and you don't have your Psalter and/or Bible handy. It renders very nicely on your phone or tablet devices.
