Memory Eternal The Very Reverend Father Bernard Kinnick Sunday, March 22, 2020
With profound sadness, yet steadfast hope in the resurrection, we honor the memory of our beloved brother in Christ, the Very Reverend Father Bernard Kinnick. Father Bernard, our late pastor of St. Nicholas Church in Spokane, Washington, fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday morning, March 22, 2020, at approximately 6 a.m.
Though the world was in the grip of heavy lockdowns, preventing many visitors in hospitals, God granted the blessing of his wife, Khouria Karen, and their daughter to be by his side during his final moments.
We ask you, dear parishioners, to please keep Father Bernard in your prayers for the departed. May his memory be eternal. Likewise, remember Khouria Karen and their entire family in your prayers for strength, comfort, and peace during this time of remembrance.
May Father Bernard’s legacy of faith and service continually inspire us all.
Collect
O God, the giver of pardon and lover of man's salvation: we beseech Thee of thy mercy to grant; that the brethren, kinsfolk and benefactors of our congregation who have passed out of this world, may at the intercession of blessed Mary ever Virgin and of all thy Saints attain unto fellowship of eternal blessedness. Through thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who with thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, liveth and reigneth God, world without end. Amen.
