Dear St. Nicholas Orthodox Church Family,
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent.
It is essential for us to come together as a community and uphold our cherished traditions by participating in the Lenten practices of fasting, prayer, and almsgiving. Let us seek forgiveness and renewal, drawing closer to
God and one another during this sacred season.
Please review Our Journey to Pascha! 2025, for scripture readings, prayers and and important days to observe up to Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025.
Things to Remember:
- Fasting: Embrace the discipline of fasting as a way to purify your body and soul. Fasting is not just about abstaining from certain foods, but also about curbing our desires and focusing on spiritual nourishment.
- Prayer: Dedicate time each day for prayer and meditation, seeking God's presence and guidance. Use this time
to deepen your relationship with Christ and to intercede for others in need.
- Repentance: Reflect on your actions and seek forgiveness for any wrongdoings. Confess your sins and strive to make amends, fostering a spirit of humility and gratitude.
May this season of Lent be a time of profound spiritual growth and transformation for each of us.
With love and
blessings,
Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church
